Department of B.Com-Finance – SF

With the growing need for the importance in finance and to meet the challenges in the emerging era., the Department of Commerce (finance) was established in the year 2010-2011 with the intention to specialize the students in the area of finance. The Department was started with 50 students and 2 faculty members. It has now spread out its branches to accommodate 160 students and 5 faculty members.

Department of Commerce (finance) aims to equip a graduate with knowledge in areas like Financial accounting, Financial services, Economics, Business Management, Corporate Accounting, Banking, Commercial law, Auditing, Statistics, Marketing, Income tax, Cost accounting, Financial Management,  Business Communication, Economics, Indirect taxation, Human resource Management, Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship, Investment Management, Principles of Insurance, Quantitative technique for finance, Management Accounting.

Students can opt for various higher level courses like Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA/CWA etc which have specific focus on finance and accounting. The student can opt for other higher studies like M.Com, Company Secretary, MBA in Finance, etc.., Graduates can find a career as a Financial analyst/ Financial Planner, , Accounts Analyst , Stock Broker, Entrepreneur, Finance Manager ,Operations Manager, Marketing Manager, Banking sector , Insurance Industry, Indian civil service etc..,

INFRASTRUCTURE

  • The department is equipped with three class rooms with sufficient seating facilities
  • The department is provided with a computer with internet facility and LCD.
  • The department has separate library consisting of more than 50 books for the faculty and students benefits.

“FEAST” an association of Department of Commerce (Finance) which was established during the year 2010 – 11 to inculcate knowledge to the student community by giving more exposure to the society. Our association is functioning with the help of office bearers like President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer who take active part in department activities in order to provide an opportunity to the students in developing their leadership skill. FEAST conducts Guest lecture, workshop, Extension activities, Symposium etc., in relevant discipline to enrich their creative skills and knowledge for their career growth.
