Extension Program Seminar on Outsmart the Scammers, Stay Alert, Stay Safe

The Consumer Awareness Club, Department of Commerce (Finance), NGM College, organized a seminar titled "Outsmart the Scammers, Stay Alert, Stay Safe" on 24th September 2026 at Vivekandhar Arangam. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about cybercrime, online scams and safe digital transactions. Ms. M. Menaka, Inspector of Police, All Women's Police Station, Pollachi, acted as the resource person. She shared valuable insights into various forms of cyber fraud, including fraudulent phone calls, fake messages, suspicious links, online payment scams and the misuse of personal and financial information.

The Session was very useful and makes students to understand the risks associated with digital transactions and the importance of responsible internet usage. The session was highly iinteractive and motivating. It helps them to remain vigilant and protect themselves from cybercriminals. 126 students participated and got benefited from the programme. The event successfully enhanced their awareness of cyber safety, consumer protection and secures digital practices.
