July 2, 2026 – NGM College, an institution established in 1957 boasting a NAAC A++ Grade, is set to host the Swami Vivekanandar Commemoration Day, also referred to as Punniya Thithi 2026. Organized by the Swami Vivekanandar Manavar Sinthanai Mandram, the memorial event will take place on July 03, 2026, starting at 09.30 AM onwards. The gathering will be held at the Arutchelvar Arangam.
The theme of the event revolves around Swami Vivekananda’s famous call to action: “ARISE! AWAKE! ACHIEVE!”. Specifically, the college is dedicating the day to “Honoring the ‘National Youth Icon’ through the voices of our future leaders”. The official program is registered under the reference IQAC/2026-27/JULY/016.
Programme Schedule
The commemoration will feature a blend of faculty and student insights, beginning with a spiritual invocation:

Bhajan: The day will commence with a performance by the College Choir.

Welcome Address: Dr. K. Dhanalakshmi, Head of the Department of Tamil and Coordinator of the Swami Vivekanandar Manavar Sinthanai Mandram, will officially welcome the gathering.

Presidential Address: Dr. B. K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, President of NGM College, will preside over the event and deliver this address.

Keynote Address: Dr. T. E. Manjulavalli, Principal (i/c) of NGM College, will deliver the keynote speech.

Felicitation Address: Prof. Dr. R. Muthukumaran, Dean-Outreach & Students Affair, will felicitate the gathering.
Special Addresses by Faculty
Two dedicated special addresses will be delivered by esteemed faculty members:

Dr. A. Logamadevi, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Botany, will present on the topic “உத்திஷ்டத ஜாக்ரத”.

Dr. M. Kamaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil Literature, will speak on the title “அறத்தின் வழியில் விவேகானந்தர்”.
Voices of Future Leaders: Students’ Speech
Highlighting the youth-centric theme, students will share their perspectives on Swami Vivekananda’s legacy:

S. M. Ezhil (B.Com) will deliver a speech titled “இளைஞர்களின் எழுச்சியே பாரதத்தின் வளர்ச்சி”.

S. Gayathridevi (BA Tamil) will address the audience with her speech, “விவேகானந்தரின் வெற்றிச்சிந்தனைகள்”.
The commemoration will officially conclude with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. P. Archanaa, Head of the UG Department of Commerce [CA] and Coordinator for the Swami Vivekanandar Manavar Sinthanai Mandram.
