📅 1. Attendance Regulations
Attendance is recorded every day for all classes. The college emphasizes punctuality and regular attendance as a core part of its “Expansion with Excellence” mission.
-
Punctuality: Students must be in their respective classrooms before the first bell. 🔔
-
Marking Attendance: Attendance is taken at the beginning of each period. A student who is not in class when attendance is taken will be marked absent for that session.
-
Minimum Requirement: As per University and Autonomous norms, a minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory to appear for the End Semester Examinations. 📝
-
Shortage of Attendance: Students with attendance between 65% and 74% may be permitted to write exams only after paying a condonation fee and providing valid medical reasons. Those below 65% must repeat the semester.
✉️ 2. Leave of Absence Rules
If a student needs to be absent, they must follow the formal leave procedure:
-
Prior Permission: Students should apply for leave in advance using the prescribed leave application form available in the department/office. ✍️
-
Unforeseen Absence: In case of sudden illness or emergencies, the leave application must be submitted on the first day of return to college.
-
Authority: All leave applications must be duly signed by the Parent or Guardian and submitted to the Head of the Department (HoD) through the Class Tutor.
-
Medical Leave: For absence exceeding three days due to illness, a valid Medical Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner must be attached to the application. 🏥
🚫 3. Absence Without Leave
-
Disciplinary Action: Continuous absence for five days or more without a valid leave letter may result in the student’s name being removed from the rolls. ❌
-
Fines/Penalties: The management reserves the right to impose fines or disciplinary actions for habitual late-coming or unauthorized absence.
-
Special Events: Attendance is compulsory for college functions, seminars, and special meetings. No leave will be granted on such days unless there is a grave emergency.
🏅 4. On-Duty (OD) Leave
-
Eligibility: Students representing the college in Sports, NCC, NSS, or Academic Competitions are eligible for “On-Duty” attendance.
-
Process: OD must be recommended by the Physical Director or the respective Program Officer and approved by the Principal before the event takes place. 🏆
