Dr. T. Rajkumar is serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Tamil Literature (UG & PG) at Nallamuthu Gounder Mahalingam College, Pollachi. Possessing over 19 years of extensive teaching experience in higher education, he has qualified in the UGC-NET eligibility test. He completed his Postgraduation (M.A.) and M.Phil. degrees at PSG College of Arts & Science, and earned his Ph.D. degree under Bharathiar University at NGM College for his thesis titled “Pottery Art and the Life of Potters in Coimbatore District”.
With specialized expertise in research domains such as Folklore, Journalism, and Modern Literature, he has also served as a project researcher for a UGC High-Level Research Project on “Kongu Region – Pottery Art”. He has guided 4 Ph.D. research scholars, 3 M.Phil. scholars, and 40 postgraduate students. In addition to publishing research articles in UGC CARE-listed journals, he has presented papers and participated in 26 national seminars, 6 international conferences, and over 12 workshops. Furthermore, he has completed 10 international online courses through Coursera.
He has made significant contributions as a University Representative on the Board of Studies at Sri G.V.G. Visalakshi College for Women, an expert member on Ph.D. Doctoral Committees, an Academic Auditor at various colleges, and an organizer for several national seminars conducted in collaboration with the Central Institute of Classical Tamil and Sahitya Akademi. Notably, he served as a session officer during the World Classical Tamil Conference held in Coimbatore (2010). He is the recipient of prestigious honors, including the Tamilparithi Award (2025), Pari Vallal Award (2025), Perasiriyar Mamani Award (2024), Arappani Semmal Award (2024), and the Best Essayist Award (2023). Additionally, he possesses strong technical proficiency in DTP, MS Office, Canva design, and Tamil computer typing.
