Overview
NGM College has implemented a comprehensive policy to ensure that physical and digital barriers do not hinder the education of differently-abled students. Our “Inclusive Campus” initiative focuses on four key areas: Physical Access, Examination Support, Assistive Technology, and Sensitization.
🏗️ 1. Physical Infrastructure (Barrier-Free Access)
The campus layout is designed to allow independent movement for students using mobility aids.

Ramps and Handrails: All major building entrances, including the Main Block, Science Block, and Library, are equipped with non-slip ramps and sturdy handrails.

Elevators/Lifts: High-capacity elevators are available in multi-storey blocks to ensure access to upper-floor classrooms and laboratories.

Disabled-Friendly Restrooms: Specially designed washrooms with wider doors, grab bars, and low-height washbasins are located on the ground floor of all main buildings.

✍️ 2. Examination & Academic Support
As per Bharathiar University and Government mandates, the college provides the following concessions during examinations:

Scribe Facility: Provision of qualified scribes for students with visual impairment or orthopedically challenged students who are unable to write.

Extra Time: Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour (or as per current government norms) is granted for all internal and external examinations.

The Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam Resources Centre (Library) offers specialized tools for inclusive learning:
