Dr. K. Rajalakshmi, Associate Professor of Botany shows research interest in Ecology and Environment after her under graduation in Environmental Biology from Madurai Kamaraj University and earned M.Phil in Environmental Science and Engineering from Pondicherry University. She is the University topper and has two gold medals to her credit. After completing her Masters in Botany, she developed interest in conservation of plants. She had completed her Doctorate in Heavy metal toxicity on Arachis hypogea (L). After her two decades of teaching and research, she had started working on the toxicological effects of heavy metals. She is a recognized research guide of Bharathiar University and currently working on lichens and ethnobotanical studies of tribal communities in the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve.
